As part of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK, the nine-day celebration leading up to the MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 ceremony, TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO hosted MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK SPECIAL LIVE LisAni! LIVE on TOKYO ANIME MUSIC HIGHLIGHTS on June 9.

Presented in collaboration with LisAni! LIVE, one of Japan’s leading anime music events, the concert showcased the wide range of artists and genres connected to anime.

That diversity was reflected throughout the lineup. The show brought together solo artists, voice actor units, idol groups, a DJ and producer, and an in-universe band from a multimedia franchise.

Opening the event was Guilty Kiss, followed later by CoMETIK and Saint Snow, three idol groups from mixed-media franchises. MyGO!!!!!, the sixth act of the evening, performed as the band from the BanG Dream! series. TrySail, a voice actor unit, appeared, while TeddyLoid delivered a DJ and producer-led set. Headliner Masayoshi Oishi brought the night to a close as both a singer and one of anime music’s leading creators.

Another defining feature of LisAni! LIVE is its focus on live instrumentation. Led by bassist Katsuhiko Kurosu, the house band supported every act except the band and DJ performances, giving each set a distinct live energy.

By bringing these different formats together on one stage, the event offered a vivid snapshot of the scale, variety, and performance culture surrounding anime music in Japan.

Love Live! Sunshine!! – Guilty Kiss

Following an opening video soundtracked by TeddyLoid, the audience launched into a thunderous countdown, instantly sending the energy inside the arena soaring. As two figures emerged under the spotlights, a deafening roar erupted from the crowd. Then, with the call of "Ready?", distorted electric guitars crashed into the opening riff of the thrash metal-inspired anthem "Strawberry Trapper," kicking off the night in explosive fashion.

Opening the show was Guilty Kiss, a sub-unit of Aqours from the Love Live! Sunshine!! school idol project. Consisting of Rikako Aida (Riko Sakurauchi), Aika Kobayashi (Yoshiko Tsushima) and Aina Suzuki (Mari Ohara), the group performed as a duo on this occasion, with Aida and Kobayashi taking the stage.

Dressed in gothic-inspired black costumes accented with deep crimson, the pair commanded the arena as fans responded with nonstop chants and synchronized calls, their penlights transforming the venue into a sea of color. Without slowing the momentum, Guilty Kiss followed with "Guilty Night, Guilty Kiss!" and "New Romantic Sailors," driving the excitement even higher before leaving the stage with a cheerful, "Enjoy the rest of the show!"

TrySail

Before the excitement from Guilty Kiss settled, a gentle piano melody filled the arena. As the opening line of "Hanarenai Kyori" rang out, fans immediately recognized the unmistakable voices of TrySail, erupting into cheers before the trio had fully appeared on stage.

Consisting of voice actors Momo Asakura, Sora Amamiya and Shiina Natsukawa, TrySail has spent more than a decade balancing successful careers as both individual performers and one of Japan's leading voice actor units. Their polished live performance was matched by the warm, effortless chemistry they've built through years of performing together.

Dressed in elegant pale pink outfits, the trio moved seamlessly through a set that showcased the breadth of their repertoire. They performed "Utsuroi," alongside anime themes including "High Free Spirits" from High School Fleet and "adrenaline!!!," the ending theme to Eromanga Sensei. Shifting effortlessly between emotional ballads and energetic pop anthems, TrySail demonstrated the remarkable versatility that has made them one of the genre's defining acts.

The Idolmaster Shiny Colors – CoMETIK

Representing The Idolmaster Shiny Colors was CoMETIK, the three-member unit featuring Rina Kawaguchi (Luca Ikaruga), Katsuki Mikawa (Hana Suzuki) and Reina Ozawa (Haruki Ikuta). Dressed in gothic-inspired outfits centered around dark purple, the trio took the stage to warm applause. Looking back on their previous appearances at LisAni! LIVE as part of the wider The Idolmaster Shiny Colors cast, the members spoke with genuine excitement about making their debut as CoMETIK, joking that it felt like they had finally become independent. Their relaxed stage banter, including playful call-and-response with the audience, quickly put the arena at ease.

That connection only grew stronger once the music began. Performing "I Know," "Deinei Meimei" and "Hanamuke no Hanataba," CoMETIK filled the arena with singalongs, audience chants and tightly synchronized fan participation. Even a brief instrumental intro or song announcement was enough to trigger cheers, underscoring the group's passionate fanbase.

For the finale, CoMETIK chose the punk-infused "Mujikaku A Priori." Driven by relentless double-time rhythms, the performance highlighted the trio's impressive vocal versatility, from rap-inspired flows to soaring sustained notes, bringing their set to an exhilarating close.

Love Live! Sunshine!! – Saint Snow

Next to take the stage was Saint Snow, another unit from Love Live! Sunshine!!. Featuring Asami Tano (Sarah Kazuno) and Hinata Sato (Leah Kazuno), the duo is portrayed in the series as the rival sister unit to Aqours. Their set opened with "SELF CONTROL!!," an energetic rock-infused track whose tightly synchronized choreography immediately drew the audience's attention. They followed it with "DROPOUT!?," a metal-influenced anthem driven by an uncommon 6/8 double-time groove, pulling the arena into Saint Snow's signature heavy sound.

Dressed in coordinated white-and-pink outfits, the pair maintained an unwavering intensity throughout their performance, forgoing MC segments entirely to keep the momentum building. They closed with the EDM-infused "Dazzling White Town," introducing the night's first unmistakable four-on-the-floor dance beat. During the song's bridge, the duo incorporated illuminated lightsabers into their choreography, adding a futuristic visual flourish that left the audience captivated.

TeddyLoid (Special DJ Set)

As the dance groove of "Dazzling White Town" faded into a transition, the arena was transformed into a massive dance floor. Taking his place behind the decks at center stage, producer and DJ TeddyLoid wasted no time unleashing pounding four-on-the-floor beats that instantly shifted the atmosphere from concert hall to nightclub.

Opening with an introduction built around Ado's "Show," TeddyLoid launched into a remix of "Fly Away" before delivering an aggressive, high-energy DJ set centered on anime-related tracks from his own production catalog. Highlights included "Sparkle!" ("Pikkaan!") by Giga & TeddyLoid meets Rina Matsuda & Hikaru Morita (Sakurazaka46), along with a nonstop mix that showcased his signature blend of electronic dance music and anime culture.

Throughout the set, TeddyLoid regularly grabbed the microphone to hype up the crowd, encouraging fans to raise the triangular hand sign representing his signature logo. The arena quickly transformed into a sea of dancing fans, with the energy peaking during Ado's "Odo (TeddyLoid Remix)." In just 15 minutes, TeddyLoid packed the full intensity of a club DJ performance into one exhilarating set, bringing the first half of the evening to a spectacular close.

MyGO!!!!!

A warm, resonant guitar arpeggio suddenly filled the arena, immediately drawing a roar from the crowd. As the drums counted in with an open hi-hat and the full band crashed into motion, a clear vocal cut through the wall of sound. The moment MyGO!!!!! opened with "Meisei Kyo," the audience responded with thunderous chants of "Oi! Oi!", propelling the band's momentum from the very first note.

The only band on the bill, MyGO!!!!! emerged from the BanG Dream! multimedia project as a five-member group whose cast members perform all of the music live on their own instruments. Featuring Hina Youmiya (Vocals / Tomori Takamatsu), Rin Tateishi (Guitar / Anon Chihaya), Hina Aoki (Guitar / Rana Kaname), Mika Kohinata (Bass / Soyo Nagasaki) and Coco Hayashi (Drums / Taki Shiina), the group transformed the atmosphere with an uncompromising, performance-driven rock sound.

Performing "Hitoshizuku," the opening theme to BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!, the band pushed the arena's energy even higher. They followed with "Silhouette Dance," where Mika Kohinata's commanding basslines drove the performance, and "Itsujitsusenshu," which showcased the explosive twin-guitar interplay between Rin Tateishi and Hina Aoki. Closing with "Ourai," which blends emotionally charged spoken-word passages with soaring vocals, MyGO!!!!! maintained a relentless intensity throughout, capturing the raw excitement that only a live band can deliver and leaving the audience completely absorbed until the very last note.

Masayoshi Oishi

As MyGO!!!!! waved goodbye to the crowd, the house band returned to the stage with an upbeat shuffle groove, keeping the audience clapping along as anticipation built for the night's final act. That honor belonged to Masayoshi Oishi, one of anime music's most recognizable figures, celebrated both as a performer and as the songwriter behind countless hit anime songs. Opening with a medley arrangement of "Imperfect," Oishi immediately commanded the arena with his soaring vocals and effortlessly technical melodies.

The audience, already fully energized, greeted him with thunderous cheers as Oishi responded with the relaxed, conversational stage presence that has become one of his trademarks. His set spanned both recent releases, including "Ningen" and "Kimi wa Koibito," as well as fan favorites such as "uni-verse -Band ver.-," showcasing the remarkable breadth of his anime music career.

When an acoustic guitar was brought onstage, Oishi drew another roar from the crowd with his signature high-speed slap technique. Pausing for a moment, he reflected on the day's performances, telling the audience that they had reminded him just how special anime music can be. He then shared his hope that MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN would help bring songs by anime music artists to even wider audiences, both across Japan and around the world.

With that, Oishi launched into his signature hit "Kimi ja Nakya Dame Mitai." As thousands of voices sang along, the arena erupted one final time, bringing an unforgettable celebration of anime music to a fittingly triumphant close.
