Umeda Cypher to hold first Budokan one-man live, announce hiatus
Umeda Cypher has announced they will hold a one-man live titled "Umeda Cypher ONE MAN LIVE 'THE CYPHER in Nippon Budokan'" at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on Feb. 23, 2027. They also revealed they will go on hiatus after 2027.
Formed in 2007 by friends who gathered on a pedestrian bridge in Umeda, Osaka, Umeda Cypher says their first Budokan performance will deliver their largest and highest-density performance to date. Regarding the hiatus, KZ commented, "I understand this as a necessary choice to power up so I can dedicate my life to rapping, both as Umeda and as a solo artist. To achieve that, I will go on a journey, gain various experiences, and sincerely face my own words and rap." R-Shitei (Creepy Nuts) also said, "I think of this as a power-up period. As a collective of solo MCs, none of us are the type to settle for just being a 1/13th piece! Please keep an eye out for our individual moves, which will definitely become more active from here on out! We're all loading up some crazy bullets!!!"
Coinciding with the hiatus announcement, two self-produced events were also announced. "UC WEEK" will be held in Tokyo on Sept. 20 and in Osaka on Sept. 27, followed by "TAIYOLO x HAPPY DO BOUNCE!!", a joint event with SPARK!!SOUND!!SHOW!!, in Osaka on Oct. 2. Ticket Pia is accepting advance ticket reservations for each performance until July 19 at 11:59 p.m.
Umeda Cypher comments
KZ
Umeda Cypher started on May 27, 2007.
As a 19-year-old, I went to that pedestrian bridge simply driven by the desire to rap.
It's been 20 years since then, and half of my life has been "Umeda Cypher."
The me back then couldn't have imagined a future like the one we have now.
Looking back on those days while writing this comment,
I realize I was laughing in almost every scenario.
Seriously, Umeda Cypher is amazing.
In 2018, our musical activities as Umeda Cypher accelerated in earnest,
and with our major debut in 2023, the pace increased even more.
While savoring the happiness of having so many people listen to my raps,
thanks to everyone who loves our music and my incredible friends,
I've been shown spectacular views over and over again.
Even to those who I've grown distant from,
I am full of gratitude.
Without any reservations, I have nothing but thanks.
I'm really glad the cypher I went to that day was in Umeda.
As Umeda Cypher, we will be taking a break for a few years,
but it's not in a negative sense.
I understand it as a necessary choice to power up
so that I can dedicate my life to rapping, both as Umeda and as a solo artist.
To achieve that, I will go on a journey, gain various experiences,
and sincerely face my own words and rap.
Most likely, we members will continue to hang out normally,
and I think we'll still make music and perform live together.
Even though Umeda Cypher is taking a break,
I'd be happy if you could love the music we each create, keeping a comfortable distance.
Finally, I hope that everyone reading this
has healthy days filled with many smiles!
Truly, thank you. It's a little way off, but see you later.
Your friend KZ
Peace

Umeda Cypher is going on hiatus. (It continues in space)
I first went to Umeda Cypher when I was 17.
After going every Saturday for five years, followed by 1-2 years where the cypher itself didn't happen, we seriously made "Maji de High" and went on tour...
After everything that happened, we ended up rapping on a major label.
And the reason for pausing our activities now is also, well, a lot of things.
I think that indescribable feeling in a single word is very Umeda Cypher.
It's a miracle that 13 adults made it this far without even appointing a leader, isn't it.
First and foremost, I want to thank the people who started this culture called Umeda Cypher and the people who connected it to this point.
And I can't thank the team who took care of us enough.
Thank you for looking after such a complicated group, and for letting us do as we please at the end.
It was so freakin' fun doing all sorts of things☆ I'm glad we could go to all 47 prefectures~
I want to express my gratitude to all the audiences who watched and listened to us, and with that, I'd like to end this match.
Anyway, everyone's doing solo stuff, so let's gather there! UC Till I Die!
Let's all evolve by the time we gather next!
Take-M
Umeda Cypher is entering a training phase to become an even more monstrous presence.
Yes, once again, we are not a group, but a collective.
Until the day we regroup, bringing the edges we've sharpened to the extreme in our respective positions,
the festival is on hold for a while! Thank you for your support!
KBD a.k.a Kobudo
Everyone, thank you so much for your immense support so far.
Originally, rather than a group, it was a place for self-expression where unspecified people gathered—bearing the name of a cypher, which is a "phenomenon" so to speak. It's a rarity that 13 people with different hometowns and ages have run across the country together, all the way to grand stages.
In order to continue this eccentric play we've kept going for so long, to remember that we are a gathering of individuals, and to face our own lives, we had many discussions as a group, and this was the conclusion we reached.
Like those days when we rapped in a circle until morning even when we were exhausted, let's go home for a bit.
Then, let's refresh ourselves, bring various things back here, and play again.
And, hopefully, please check out our individual activities, which will surely become even more interesting from here, and Umeda Cypher's movements leading up to the hiatus.
Our play has only just begun!
R-Shitei
First of all, it was difficult for me to keep pace...
I wanted to go on the Unfold Collective tour and all 47 prefectures too...
To everyone in Umeda and all the heads, I'm truly sorry!
I'll make up for the delay on this Return of the 13 tour, with our upcoming songs, Budokan, and beyond!!
...Just as I was saying that, we announced our hiatus.
I think of it as a power-up period.
As a collective of solo MCs, none of us are the type to settle for just being a 1/13th piece!
Please keep an eye out for our individual moves, which will definitely become more active from here on out!
We're all loading up some crazy bullets!!!
By decisively stopping the grand flow and storing up energy, I've experienced firsthand the massive explosion that occurs afterward.
Don't worry.
But before that, we are consistently churning out crazy songs that might trigger a massive explosion!! Don't rest easy just yet.
With Umeda's greatest masterpiece yet, we'll go our separate ways for a while. Please give us a little time so that each and every one of us can become even bigger rappers and regroup.

As announced, Umeda Cypher will be going on hiatus.
As I write this on June 4 during our production camp, it's so much fun making crazy songs every day.
Yesterday especially, I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe.
It might just be me feeling this, but ever since we decided on the hiatus, everyone's been so positive about things, and I feel like the mood for our live shows and production has consistently been better.
I am grateful to all the fans nationwide, friends, staff, and related parties who have supported us so far. Thank you.
(We'll be in your care for a little while longer.)
It's sad that there is a limited number of live shows left, but I want to share our passion with everyone at the venues until the very end.
As one of those shows, on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2027 (national holiday)—which marks our 20th year since taking our first breath as a cypher in 2007—we will hold a one-man live at Nippon Budokan!
I'd be happy if everyone gathered on this day.
Let's make a massive circle at Budokan!
We will make you proud.
We'll be doing it our way with a fun vibe right until the end, so follow along!
Thank you for your support!
teppei
A positive hiatus!
It's not like we're quitting.
We'll power up individually as solo artists and see you again!!
ILL SWAG GAGA
Although there were times I performed on stage without knowing left from right, thank you for getting to know me and following us this far.
It was the best, most irreplaceable time of my life.
Umeda Cypher will go on hiatus, but I will continue my solo activities as "ILL SWAG GAGA."
Not just through rap, I will also release works through photography.
I'll do my best to show a new ILL SWAG GAGA, different from before.
Please continue to support me.
YugaSoda
To all the fans who always support Umeda Cypher's music and activities, thank you once again. At this time, Umeda Cypher will go on hiatus following our activities in 2027.
In making this decision, we had many discussions involving the members and staff. These talks were consistently aimed at making Umeda Cypher better, and ensuring each member leads a better life. I am deeply sorry to all the fans for this very selfish decision.
However, I ask for your understanding regarding this decision to move forward.
And I sincerely hope you will pay attention to our respective music and activities going forward.
I'm sure we'll meet again.
Let's all meet again. See ya!
Cosaqu
To the fans who always support Umeda Cypher, we have an important announcement.
We, Umeda Cypher, will be taking an indefinite hiatus after 2027.
We are truly sorry for the sudden announcement.
This is by no means because the members are on bad terms, or because our passion for music has faded.
For 13 adults in their 30s and 40s to gather and continue taking on major challenges required more energy than imagined.
That is exactly why we decided to pause our activities before that power runs out, build up our strength through our respective solo activities, and gather once again! That is the forward-looking decision we made.
In the roughly eight years since I joined Umeda Cypher, and the three years since our major debut, supported by the fans, label and agency staff, family, friends, and above all, the members who reaffirmed the joy of rap for me, I have been shown miraculous sights over and over that I could never have reached alone.
It's an irreplaceable treasure in my life.
From the bottom of my heart, I am grateful to the people I've met and those who have been involved through Umeda Cypher's activities.
Although it is an "indefinite" hiatus, this is not the end.
We will shift to solo activities while still carrying the "Umeda Cypher" sign, and I promise that one day, we will definitely return in front of you as a leveled-up 13-member group.
I will continue to pursue music seriously.
Until the day Umeda Cypher starts moving again, I would be happy if you could watch over and support our individual activities.
Let's fully enjoy the remaining time until our hiatus together!
Wishing you all health and happiness. Bye for now. See you later!
HATCH
Thank you for always supporting Umeda Cypher!
This time, Umeda Cypher will temporarily pause activities as a group.
This decision is not a backward-looking one, but a positive one for each of us to grow further as artists.
Originally a designer working behind the scenes, I think being able to stand on numerous stages as a member of Umeda Cypher was a truly luxurious and lucky experience.
I have eternal gratitude for all the members, the staff, and the listeners (U˶˘︶˘˶U)
From here on out, I plan to focus on solo activities as a rapper, and as an artist encompassing illustration and design, and I want to challenge myself once again.
Without relying on the "Umeda Cypher" name, I want to use this period to bring back even greater experiences and strength.
Although we'll be slightly separated in form, the place called Umeda Cypher won't disappear. The members will probably hang out frequently just like before anyway.
I look forward to the day we can gather in front of you all again, bringing the skills and experiences we've each polished.
During the hiatus period, I hope you will warmly watch over each member's activities.
Please continue to support us!!
DJ SPI-K
To the fans and everyone involved who support Umeda Cypher, thank you always so much.
Because of everyone, there were many sights we were able to see up to this point.
And I am grateful that through Umeda Cypher, I was supported by many people and was able to come back to life as an individual.
Thank you very much once again!
Going on hiatus this time is a decision reached after discussions with the members.
However, this hiatus doesn't just mean resting; I think of it as a "preparation period" for the next Umeda Cypher to return!
I hope that all 13 of us can build up our strength through our various forms of solo activities and gather together again someday.
I would be happy if you could also support all the members' solo activities going forward.
